Briefly Describe the Purpose of the Program

 

Loans to lenders who then re-lend to applicants to fund essential community facilities in high- or persistent-poverty rural areas. Funds can be used to buy, build, or improve facilities such as hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, town halls, courthouses, child care centers, fire departments, museums, and libraries.

Eligibility Requirements or Restrictions

Open to: Government organizations, community-based nonprofits, and federally recognized Tribes. Lenders can be located anywhere in the U.S. Community facility must be in a rural area with a population of 20,000 or fewer.

Terms and Conditions: Fixed interest rates and terms up to 40 years. Terms of the loan from the re-lender to the applicant are negotiated between those parties
